WASHINGTON D.C. -- Ohio housing agencies are getting a shot in the arm in helping homeowners face foreclosure.

The agencies received $7,269,740 by NeighborWorks America. The funds will be given to Ohio agencies participating in the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program. The program provides counseling and legal assistance to families at risk of foreclosure.

"Help for Main Street is on the way," said Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH). "When it comes to addressing the foreclosure crisis, prevention is critical. These funds will help families stay in their homes and prevent further damage to Ohio neighborhoods."
