COSHOCTON - Options for funding assistance for a new jail could be available at the federal level, and an assistant to Sen. Sherrod Brown in Washington, D.C. will connect Coshocton County Commissioners to the right resources.

Part of the commissioners Wednesday agenda was a conference call with William Jawando, who handles judiciary and criminal justice issues for the senator.

"There are some opportunities through the Department of Justice," Jawando said. "Most of the funding goes to the states and then is dispersed."
