Organic Trade Association to bestow Public Servant Award

The Organic Trade Association plans to reward Sen. Sherrod Brown with its 2011 Public Servant Award.

The association chose Brown, a first-term Democrat from Ohio, to receive the award for his work promoting organic agriculture, according to a new release.

During 2010, Brown sponsored the Organic Pilot Program, a program that authorizes $10 million in grants for schools to incorporate organic foods in their meals.
