The city’s Fire Department has received a $1.08 million federal grant that will allow it to hire nine additional firefighters.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown made the announcement earlier this afternoon.
The fire department had applied for the grant months ago. It came from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
