Two Ohio senators and a congressman are pressing the government to impose duties on a foreign competitor of a local paper manufacturer.
In a letter released Tuesday, U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman and U.S. Rep. Mike Turner took issue with an “administrative review” in December that placed no duties on imports from Koehler Paper Co.
Appvion (formerly Appleton Papers), which has a mill at 1030 W. Alex-Bell Road, has long urged antidumping and countervailing duties on imports of lightweight thermal paper from China and Germany. The idea is to make foreign imports more expensive.
