Chillicothe was Ohio's first state capitol. In the 1800s, it was a haven for commerce and agriculture. Chillicothe's historic Majestic Theatre was built in the 1900s. In the 2000s, we're seeing disturbing trends that include prescription drug abuse and fraud.

We cannot let this happen.

Throughout our communities, we are seeing a disturbing increase in prescription drug abuse and its deadly consequences. The full severity of this crisis was first brought to my attention by Adams County Judge Brett Spencer a few years ago, when he relayed what he was seeing on a daily basis: increasing incidences of prescription drug abuse and addiction, escalating rates of illegal drug diversion activities that were overburdening our law enforcement and criminal justice system and more and more Ohioans dying from prescription drug overdoses.
