More than 100 Stark County manufacturers could benefit from a $30 billion proposal to help auto suppliers and other small- and mid-sized manufacturers, according to a new study.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Avon) said Wednesday he will sponsor a bill to provide $30 billion in loans for companies to retool for the clean-energy industry to reduce energy use.

A study by nonprofit research institute Policy Matters Ohio found 112 manufacturing facilities in Stark County have the potential to benefit from the proposal.
