Add U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown to the list of politicians that have toured RAMTEC, Marion's Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Technology Education Center.

The Ohio Democrat walked through Marion's state-of-the-art robotics center Thursday to learn more about what RAMTEC is doing to prepare students for manufacturing jobs. Sen. Rob Portman, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi, candidate for governor Ed FitzGerald, state Rep. Dorothy Pelanda state and Rep. Jeff McClain all toured the facility last school year.

"We are such a manufacturing state," Brown said.

Tri-Rivers superintendent Chuck Speelman told the senator how RAMTEC is training people to fit into high-skill jobs.

"It takes a higher skill set," he said. "And you have to train people."
