Royalton and Strongsville grads land internships on Capitol Hill

A former Bear and a former Mustang are now working as interns for U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown’s Capitol Hill office.

Strongsville High School graduate, Annie Morino, is currently a junior at Allegheny College. Morino is participating in a semester program in Washington, which includes a seminar and an internship. Morino was an intern in Brown’s Cleveland office last summer and decided to apply for an internship at his Washington D.C. office.

“I love working for Sherrod Brown because I believe that he really cares about his constituents. He deeply appreciates his entire staff, including interns,” Morino said.

North Royalton graduate, Evan Pelecky, is also an intern for Brown’s office. Pelecky recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati where he earned a degree in Theatre Design and Production and Stage Management.

“Senator Brown works very hard for his constituents, and it’s an honor to be part of an office that cares so much about the people of Ohio.”

Of Pelecky and Morino, Brown said these young Ohioans exemplify how families, teachers, and communities continue to produce the next generation of leaders.
