WASHINGTON, D.C. — Legislation cosponsored by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown could help students at Lorain County Community College working toward a new associate degree in wind turbine technology next fall.
Brown mentioned the legislation during a press conference yesterday conducted with Ed Montgomery, the White House director of recovery for auto communities and workers. Montgomery is visiting Toledo, Dayton and Twinsburg this week to meet with workers and local leaders to learn how the federal government can help them recover from turmoil in the auto industry.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has money available for local communities, and Ohio has already received about $2 billion in fiscal stabilization support, Montgomery said.
