TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown chose Toledo to start a series of news conferences outlining healthcare benefits. It was a chance for seniors to learn about benefits the healthcare bill had in store for them such as free screenings and help with prescription costs for those with gaps in their Medicare coverage.

People asked the senator face to face general questions and voiced their concerns.

The senator says he knows there are false rumors about the healthcare bill. He says that's why he's taking the time to help people understand the bill and dispel any myths surrounding the legislation.

"There is a lot of misinformation--as there always is--and a lot of controversy but it's clear this bill will matter to help seniors get free preventive care, to get cancer screenings, to get osteoporosis screenings," Brown said.

After a chance to hear an explanation directly from Brown, some say their concerns were put to rest, but others weren't convinced.
