CLEVELAND - U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced a plan Monday to protect senior citizens on Medicare from unexpected and "unfair" medical costs.
It would correct the current Medicare policy that doesn't count "observation status" towards a requirement for an inpatient hospital stay of at least three days before the government would cover "skilled nursing care."
He calls the bipartisan plan the "Improving Access to Medicare Coverage Act."
