WASHINGTON - The Senate Banking Committee's top Democrat plans to introduce legislation that would require Equifax to provide 10 years of free credit monitoring to the 143 million Americans whose financial data was compromised by security breaches at its company.

Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown told reporters that the single year of credit monitoring that Equifax is offering those whose data was exposed is "not enough to protect consumers."
