Sen. Sherrod Brown, unions want trade deals that don't harm workers

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Area labor leaders told Sen. Sherrod Brown they support his effort to make Donald Trump honor campaign promises to renegotiate trade deals the president says have harmed American workers.

The union officials, most representing manufacturing workers, made their comments during a roundtable that Brown, a Democrat, held Monday at the North Shore AFL-CIO Federation of Labor offices on Euclid Avenue.

Brown's goal was to garner workers' opinions on how the Trump administration should renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, as well as other trade deals, to benefit American workers.
