LIMA — The appropriation to keep Abrams tank work at Joint Systems Manufacturing Center through 2014 keeps rolling along.

The Senate Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year 2013 Defense Appropriations bill Thursday, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Avon, said.

Brown sits on the committee and helped secure $129 million for the modernization of the Abrams tank as well as $165 million for upgrades the Joint Manufacturing Systems Center.

The House and Senate have authorized the defense work, but appropriating the money for the work is a different process.
