An Ohio senator is asking the federal government to expedite its review of a proposed sale of the former General Motors plant in Moraine.

Sen. Sherrod Brown wrote Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner and Attorney General Eric Holder, asking that the review be concluded as “swiftly as possible.”

“As you know, Ohio auto communities have been some of the hardest hit by the recent recession,” Brown, a Democrat, wrote in a letter his office released Thursday afternoon. “This redevelopment project for Moraine represents a clear path toward recovery and renewed growth.”
