Families are shattered and communities fail to thrive when drug abuse runs rampant as your editorial board noted (Prescription drug abuse a real danger (Jan. 18). Ohioans don't have to sit by and watch the prescription drug abuse problem grow.
That's why my office has convened roundtables in southern Ohio with federal officials from the U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Agency, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and state officials from the Attorney General's office, Department of Health, and Department of Jobs and Family Service to solve this problem. By doing so, we can better educate Ohioans about the dangers of prescription drug abuse. And save Ohio families while rebuilding our communities.
