CAREY — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown promoted a manufacturing jobs bill he is co-sponsoring, after touring a growing Carey factory on Friday.
The bill, called the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation Act, was approved last week by the U.S. House and awaits a Senate vote.
Under the legislation, a National Network of Manufacturing Innovation would be created to bring together industry, universities and community colleges, and government to accelerate manufacturing innovation in technologies with commercial applications. The goal is to bridge the gap between basic research and product development.
