On Wednesday, Nov. 18, Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown (D) held a press conference call to speak about his recently introduced HAPI (Helping Adults Protect Immunity) Act.
The main point of the HAPI Act would be to provide COVID-19 vaccines to Ohioans with no out-of-pocket cost to better reach vulnerable communities. Additionally, the act would ensure that every person with Medicaid would get all recommended vaccines with no copay.
Senator Brown was joined by Dr. Sarah Sams from the American Academy of Family Physicians. Sams confirmed that the AAFP supports Brown’s bill, as well as immunization rights in general.
