Senator Brown's plan was released as part of Cover the Uninsured Week, which runs April 27th - May 3rd. The purpose is to raise awareness of the fact that Forty-seven million Americans, including more than 9 million children, are living without health care coverage. To help do something about this issue, Senator Sherrod Brown has introduced the Small Employer Health Insurance Bill. The legislation seeks to expand access to health insurance for small businesses and the self-employed. It would provide them with a low cost private plan that they can choose to purchase.
