CANTON — When the new downtown federal office building opens in 2010, some are hoping it will be named in honor of U.S. Rep. Ralph Regula.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown sent a letter to the U.S. General Service Administration on Tuesday, officially requesting the building be named for Regula.

“Naming this new building in Congressman Regula’s honor is an opportunity to recognize the significant contributions he has made to Ohio and to the congressional district he has long represented,” Brown said in a letter to GSA Acting Administrator Jim Williams.
