CANTON —

At the Mayfield Manor complex for seniors, a group of retired women griped Wednesday about increases in their cost of living.

Ardith Grimes complained about the rising cost of eggs, gas and auto insurance.

Ila Walters said her co-pays to see the doctor went up by $10 per visit.
“I used to go out to eat. I can’t afford it now,” she said.

Melinda Andrews said her rent has increased by $50 per month.

“Everything is going up on us,” she said. “It’s not fair. We should be getting a cost-of-living raise.”
