Sherrod Brown Frustrated with Possible Government Shutdown

Brown says lurking shutdown "just plain wrong."


f you're planning on visiting Washington, D.C., this weekend for the Cherry Blossom festival, you might want to think again.

Unless both sides of the political aisle come to an agreement, our government will be shutting down after Friday at midnight. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, reacted strongly to the possible shutdown on Thursday night.

Brown said the shutdown of the government will not only cost this country jobs, but hurt the nations recovery as well.

The current funding resolution expires on Friday at midnight, Thursday, Brown reacted to the House budget request.

"We've come to an agreement on the numbers and the house of representative, so far, is insisting on de-funding Planned Parenthood and that seems to be the sticking point," said Brown.

"We've got to keep focused on the budget issues, keep the government open and have a full fledged debate over the next six months over what the budgets going to look like next couple of years," said Brown.

While they have seen some agreement on numbers. Brown also said some members of the house are willing to shut down the government if they don't get their way. According to him, that's just wrong.
