WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced legislation this week to expand access to health insurance for small businesses and the self-employed.

Brown's bill, modeled after the Federal Employees Health Benefits plan, was timed to kick off National Cover the Uninsured Week.
  
The former Mansfield resident said his proposal would establish affordable coverage options for underserved business segments.
