Congress must step up and provide more money to help communities such as Columbus better detect and respond to San Bernardino-style terrorist attacks, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown said today.

“We need to ensure that those on the frontlines protecting us have the tools they need to respond to threats and keep Americans safe and secure,” Brown said.

A bill introduced last month by Brown and other Democrats would provide an undetermined amount of federal funds to help police agencies upgrade their terrorist-detection skills and active-shooter training.
