CANTON: U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Lorain, is calling on the U.S. General Services Administration to name a new federal building after retiring U.S. Rep. Ralph Regula, R-Navarre.

''Naming this new building in Congressman Regula's honor is an opportunity to recognize the significant contributions he has made to Ohio and to the Congressional district he has long represented,'' Brown wrote in a letter Tuesday to the agency.

Brown also said Regula, who is retiring after representing the 16th Congressional District for 36 years, ''serves as a role model for all public servants.''
