WASHINGTON D.C. - Senators eager to go home for the holidays are likely grumbling about Ohio's U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and West Virginia U.S. Senator Joe Manchin.

Brown and Manchin are delaying holiday adjournment and blocking action on normally perfunctory bills, like honoring Pearl Harbor Day, to try to get long-term help for retired coal miners losing their  health care.

Brown's quoted as saying "We're not leaving...if it means a session on Christmas Day," after Republican Senate leaders, including Sen. Mitch McConnell, refused to give ground on the issue.
