A small business seminar was held Monday at North Central State College's Kehoe Center in Shelby.
The two-hour session was sponsored by U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, who spoke to the gathering by way of a recorded video.
About a dozen small business owners, or prospective owners, were told how the government can help them increase sales, get tax incentives, and export their products.
Will Bowdish of the Small Business Administration gave a presentation of loan programs, including how the SBA can guarantee loans approved by banks.
North Central State College President Don Plotts says fledgling small business owners need this kind of instruction, along with the help they can get many local organizations.
