SOUTH AMHERST — The village Fire Department will receive a $29,260 federal grant to purchase rescue tools, thermal-imaging cameras, and new fire hose.

The funds were among 15 separate awards totaling $1,165,969 that were awarded to Ohio fire departments by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program announced by the of office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Avon.
