The Stow Fire Department will receive $33,930 as part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grants program, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced.
Brown said $399,098 was awarded to eight northeast Ohio fire departments to bolster firefighter resources. The fire departments are in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Stark, Summit and Trumbull counties.
“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” said Brown. “These funds ensure that firefighters in northeast Ohio have the equipment and resources they need to perform their jobs safely.”
