Congress shouldn't rush to pass the $700 billion bailout by week's end, said Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
"We need to do something (but) people don't want us to pass something that is way more interested in helping Wall Street with their eight-figure bonuses than helping Main Street," Brown, a member of the Banking Committee, told Ohio reporters.
Ohioans are "imploring us not to give a blank check to anybody," Brown said. He said he thinks the markets will react well as long as they understand that lawmakers are making progress toward a package.
