It’s a Monday on Capitol Hill, the Senate has yet to fully rev up for the week –- what’s a senator to do?

If you’re Sen. Sherrod Brown, you join your staff to play softball in front of the Capitol. Yup, that’s Brown, 60, tucked among the 20 and 30-somethings that represent the “Blue Collars” –- their softball team.

Brown, D-Ohio, playing first base, managed to help out with a 3-6-3 double play. That’s when a first baseman catches the ball, throws it to second, steps on first, then fields the ball and gets the out at first.

It’s the first time Brown has played with the team in four years. Games are usually on weekends, when he’s in Ohio. They played the Department of Energy’s Regulators.
