Ahhh, summer.

A time for vacations, relaxing, swimming, ice cream.

But for some children from low-income families, summer can be a time of empty stomachs and hunger.

Enter the Summer Food Service Program, the federal program created to provide free meals to low-income children.

At the East Toledo Family Center on Friday, children were enjoying a lunch of sloppy joes, green beans, fruit, and chocolate milk.
