WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, hosted his fourth annual College and University Presidents' Conference in Washington, D.C., Wednesday with more than 50 presidents from colleges and universities across Ohio.
Six presidents from higher education institutions in northwest Ohio attended, including Paul Marion of Tiffin University.
"Colleges and universities two-year, four-year, private and public play a crucial role in connecting students with businesses that strengthen our nation's economic competitiveness," Brown said in a release. "This annual conference builds on the legacy that links education with economic prosperity, which in turn creates a stronger middle class."
Brown's forum, the first of its kind, is aimed at connecting educators with business leaders to advance regional economic development, the release states.
This year's forum also connected Ohio college presidents with regional business leaders.
