Two Lorain County youths have been nominated to attend the Military Academy at West Point, according to the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.
Shane Brockey, of Amherst, who attends Marion L. Steele High School, and Christophre Kuzak, of South Amherst, who attends Culver Military Academy, are among 50 Ohio students nominated to U.S. military service academies.
Each year, Brown nominates 10 students for each service academy requiring congressional recommendations. In addition to West Point, he nominates students for the Air Force Academy, the Naval Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy.
