By the time a new cancer hospital opens in December 2010, officials at University Hospitals Case Medical Center hope they have everything in place to receive more government money for cancer patient care.

A designation for exemption from limits on Medicare reimbursements, which would take an act of Congress, would provide the hospital with millions of dollars more each year for treatments, research and top physician talent. And it would propel UH into the nation's top echelon of cancer care.
