U.S. firm gets new chance at glass deal

WASHINGTON - Steuben Glass will get a chance, after all, at a lucrative State Department contract to supply fancy glassware to U.S. embassies, Sen. Sherrod Brown said.
The Ohio Democrat and lawmakers from New York met yesterday at the Capitol with State Department officials to discuss the complaint by New York-based Steuben Glass that it should have been able to bid on a $5.4 million contract to supply glassware for U.S. embassies.
