With oil prices reaching another all time high at 123 dollars a barrel, US Senator Sherrod Brown is co-sponsoring a bill that could hold oil companies accountable.

The legislation is called the Consumer First Energy Act and it would create a tax on windfall profits of major oil companies, allowing investigations into potential price gouging and collusion as well as temporarily halt the purchase of oil into the strategic petroleum reserve.
