Twinsburg -- Demanding accountability from corporate leadership and pleading for the Chrysler Stamping Plant to remain open, more than 1,000 employees and their families packed the UAW Local 122 offices on Chamberlin Road May 11 for a rally with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Mayor Katherine Procop.
"It was your blood, sweat and tears that built the city of Twinsburg," Procop told the standing-room-only crowd.
"Northeast Ohio is bleeding enough, and we will have a say in what happens to this plant. We will find a way to keep this plant open."
With what Procop called the "shocking and devastating" announcement by Chrysler May 4 that the stamping plant will close in 2010, Brown told workers he is "exploring all avenues to keep jobs and economic activity in Twinsburg."
