WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee authorized $3.3 million in federal funding for Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) urged the committee to support this funding for Camp Ravenna.
“Ohio’s National Guard deserves the best possible training facilities so it can prepare for future missions,” said Brown. “This funding would allow Camp Ravenna to make needed updates that will benefit our citizen-soldiers. I’ll work to ensure that this funding is included in the final authorization bill.”
The funding would help make improvements to the Camp’s indoor firing range facility. This range is used to train and test soldiers against stationary targets for day and night qualifications with their service rifles. The funds would help improve the existing training for both overseas contingency operations as well as routine preparedness.
