WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today during a health care speech at the Campaign for America’s Future Conference announced two new additions, Twitter and an interactive Web page, to his communications operation.
“Today I’m launching my Twitter profile as another way to engage Ohioans about everything from critical issues like health care reform to creating jobs in Ohio. And, on occasion, possibly an update or two about the Cleveland Indians,” Brown said.
Brown’s Senate office posted the first tweet this morning: “Sen. Brown at CAF conference health care reform – “public option MUST be part of health reform.” Please click the link here to follow Brown on Twitter.
During this speech, in which Brown called for a public health insurance option to be a key part of health care reform in Congress, he also announced a new Web page inviting Ohioans to share stories about their struggles with health care coverage.
“New media tools like this Web page provide an opportunity for Ohioans to communicate directly with my office,” Brown said. “I encourage Ohioans to take part in the conversation, and I look forward to hearing their stories.”
