WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $175,000 in federal funding for the Trumbull County Commissioners to install new a sanitary sewer system in Vienna Township.

“Proper wastewater management and storage is critical to the infrastructure of Ohio communities,” said Brown. “This funding will help improve service for rural customers in Trumbull County.”

The $175,000 was awarded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). The funding will help Trumbull County install the Little Squaw Creek Interceptor Phase 5. The project will add 13,000 feet of new sanitary sewer to provide a public sewer system to areas of the Township and to prevent contaminants from leaking from septic systems into water that flows into the Little Squaw Creek and Mahoning River. This addition will benefit 289 residential and 16 commercial properties in Vienna Township.
