WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $75,000 to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital to upgrade essential medical equipment.

“We rely on safe, modern hospitals to take care of our children, loved ones, and friends,” said Brown. “This investment will allow Coshocton County Memorial Hospital to expand treatment in our communities and ensure that Ohio families continue to receive top-notch care.”

Coshocton County Memorial Hospital provides critical access to medical care for residents of Coshocton and surrounding counties. With recent additions to hospital staff, including the addition of new general surgeons, a gynecologist, and other specialized providers, the grant will ensure that these practitioners have the resources they need to provide high quality care to patients.

The $75,000 grant from the ARC, along with a local grant of $124,164, will allow the hospital to purchase steam sterilizers, expanding the number of surgical and endoscopy patients treated by Coshocton County Memorial Hospital from 1,463 to 1,536 within one year of the project’s completion.
