WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded  $150,000 to the Harrison County Airport Authority to improve safety at the airport.

“This is great news for Harrison County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance safety at the Harrison County Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way toward ensuring safe travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

This federal grant, awarded through a competitive process, will be used to conduct a runway safety area study to identify future airport needs.
