WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded  $553,423 to the Knox County Airport Authority to enhance safety.

“This is great news for Knox County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance safety at the Knox County Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way towards ensuring safe travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

This federal grant, awarded through a competitive process, will be used to construct a perimeter fence, which will protect the airport from unauthorized and inadvertent entry and wildlife hazards.
