WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded  $36,000 to the Wayne County Regional Airport Authority to improve safety at the airport.

“This is great news for Wayne County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance safety at the Wayne County Regional Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way toward ensuring safe travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

This federal grant, awarded through a competitive process, will be used to fund a Wildlife Hazard Assessment which will identify wildlife species in the airport area.
