WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced a $150,000 federal investment for Bowling Green State University from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to help spur innovation and economic diversity in the community.
“Ohio’s colleges and universities are rich with research opportunities and facilities, faculty expertise, and other resources that can benefit not just Ohio students but also our communities,” said Brown. “This investment will help strengthen the partnership between Bowling Green State University and local organizations in Wood County to create and implement strategies to boost the local economy and create jobs.”
The funding comes from EDA’s University Center (UC) Economic Development Program. The UC program aims to leverage resources from colleges and universities to support regional economic development strategies and activities in areas of economic distress. The funding will help Bowling Green State University meet the needs and technical assistance requests of local government and nonprofit organizations to help implement regional projects.
