WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $12,864,804 to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority to repair Runway 10L/28R at Port Columbus International Airport to preserve its structural integrity and reduce debris.

“This federal infrastructure investment will ensure that the Port Columbus International Airport can continue to safely transport people and goods,” Brown said. “These repairs will help the airport better serve Franklin County residents and businesses.”

The grant will provide for the widening of blast pads, the construction of runway shoulders, and the milling and overlaying of 8,000 feet of runway pavement. Port Columbus International Airport will also move its connector taxiways to meet FAA design standards.
