Brown Announces More Than $130,000 for Grand River Ambulance

Funding Will Go toward Purchase of New Ambulance

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $47,000 Community Facilities grant to the Village of Grand River to purchase a new ambulance vehicle. The USDA is also awarding a $90,000 Community Facilities loan to finance the purchase, bringing the total USDA funds available to $137,000.

“Ohio first-responders work every day to protect our families,” said Brown. “This investment will ensure the Grand River Emergency Department has the resources it needs to keep Lake County residents safe.”

The funds for this purchase are a part of the USDA’s Rural Development initiative. Brown helped secure a strong Rural Development title in the 2014 Farm Bill, and is continuing to advocate for Rural Development programs in the 2018 Farm Bill.
