WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced today that Put-In-Bay Village will receive more than $2.2 million in competitive grants for boating infrastructure projects. The new federal funds were awarded through a competitive process at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) program.
“This grant means new jobs and economic activity in Put-In-Bay,” said Brown. “This funding will allow critical infrastructure improvements to support a successful boating season this year and in many years to come.”
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will partner with the Village of Put-In-Bay to match the $2.2 million allocation. They will invest more than $1.3 million for boating infrastructure improvements. Projects include dock repairs and new construction, protection improvements on all docks, and new lighting installations.
